Once again Argentina's capital city, Buenos Aires, was elected as the number 1 city in Latin America and Mexico by the readers of Travel+Leisure Magazine, in their World's Best Awards 2011. With a score of 87.77 Buenos Aires shares the 11th position in the world with Jerusalem. The selection criteria involved areas such as tourist attractions, cultural events and gastronomy. The city also counts with 7 properties awarded among the 500 World's Best Hotels for 2011.

The eruption of a volcanic area near the Puyehue Volcano located in the south of Chile has been affecting flights since last week. The volcano continues to pour ash into the sky and the cancelation of flights depends mainly on the direction and intensity of the wind. Most of the canceled flights have been departures of arrivals from Buenos Aires. From March 27th, 2011 British Airways will fly from London to Buenos Aires direct, with seven weekly services departing from Heathrow at 9:55pm and from Ezeiza at 1:25pm to arrive in London at 6:35am. The airline currently flies daily to London with a stopover in San Pablo.
From August 18th Aerolineas Argentinas provides an excellent circuit of air routes connecting many of the destinations on a new flight known as the ‘Corredor Norte’. On June 24th at 8:30pm Qatar Airways made its debut in South America, the inaugural flight landed at Ezeiza International Airport from Doha, via Sao Paulo. The new route will have a daily operation departing from Doha at 8:00am and arriving in Buenos Aires at 8:30pm (an 18.5 hour flight time including one stop in Brazil), from Ezeiza will depart at 11:05pm to arrive at Qatar's capital at 11:10pm the following day (an 18:05 hour flight time including one stop in Brazil), Qatar Airways flights are operated with Boeing 777 equipment.
