
The international television commercial / promotional film released by the Ministry of Tourism in its electronic campaigns in the year 2008 has won the Ministry several accolades the world over. The film, which has been aired on all major international television channels, including CNN, BBC, National Geographic, Discovery etc. has won awards at various international film festivals, culminating in the Austrian Committee International Des Festivals du Film Touristique 2009 Grand Prix Award at Vienna in November, 2009. In its journey to winning the Grand Prix Award, the Commercial had won awards in Germany (Berlin), Poland, Romania, France, Portugal, Czech Republic and Croatia.
Recently, during April 2010, the film has been honored yet again with an award for the Best Adventure Film at the Film Festival in Riga, Latvia and with the Gold Award at the New York Film Festival.

An ancient library housing holy manuscripts and thousands of precious books, including a version of the Quran penned by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, has reopened in Aurangabad after a gap of 40 years. The 17th-century library in the old part of the city is now emerging as a destination for tourists, students and research fellows. A centuries-old ‘Panchakki’ or water mill, which is still operational, dominates the premises, with the library located behind it. In the library, which houses 3,500 books - in Urdu, Arabic and Persian - on history, law, medicine, Sufism, religion and philosophy, the chief attraction is a version of the Quran penned by Emperor Aurangzeb.

The Park Hotels has launched its first hotel in Hyderabad in April this year, which is located adjacent to the Hussain Sagar Lake. This new 270 room flagship property is the ninth addition to the Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels’ collection of boutique hotels. The Park, Hyderabad is a LEED GOLD certified green hotel by the US Green Building Council. It maintains low outdoor heat absorption, high acoustic levels, minimal emission levels, energy-efficient lighting, and utilises natural lighting to maximum potential, among other sustainable practices.

Kingfisher Airlines has announced a number of new international services. The new international routes include Mumbai-Dubai, Delhi-Dubai and Delhi-Kathmandu. Kingfisher Airlines launched direct flights from Mumbai to Dubai. The flights on all these routes are being operated with Airbus A320 aircraft. The flights on the New Delhi-Dubai route will feature a dual-class cabin with five-star luxury on Kingfisher First and Kingfisher Class, the premium economy service, while the flights on the Delhi-Kathmandu and Mumbai-Dubai route will feature Kingfisher Class.
