DAY 2 - Kathmandu
After breakfast, take a sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur. Often called the “City of Devotees”, Bhaktapur is a centre of medieval art and architecture. The legendary city was founded by King Ananda Deva in 889 AD and is shaped like a conch shell. Pottery and weaving are its traditional industries. You’ll visit Durbar Square and Nyatapala Temple, a 5-storied pagoda style temple. Then drive to a small quiet township of Kathmandu, where a spectacular scenic view is visible from its flower covered hillsides as the sun gleams over the snow capped mountain ranges.
A barbeque lunch is served at a local resort, then you drive back to visit Kathmandu City with its fine examples of Nepalese architecture in the palaces and pagodas of Durbar Square. Also visit Asan Tole, a typical Nepalese market.
Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3 – Kathmandu to Delhi
This morning, weather permitting, you will take what promises to be one of the most thrilling flights of your life - the Himalayan Mountain Flight. During a one-hour flight the plane flies at close range along the Himalayas, the world's highest and most majestic peaks. The view from the plane window is simply spectacular, especially when you finally see Mt. Everest, the highest peak on earth.
After the flight, an early lunch is served before you transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi. On arrival, you’ll be assisted with the transfer airport to your hotel to check in and spend the night.
DAY 4 - Delhi
In the morning, take a sightseeing tour of Old Delhi. Visit the Raj Ghat, the memorial at the site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated, Jama Mosque, the largest mosque in India, and drive past the Red Fort, once the most opulent fort and palace of the Moghul Empire.
In the afternoon you’ll tour New Delhi, visiting Humayun's Tomb and the Qutub Minar. As you drive along the ceremonial avenue, Rajpath, pass the imposing India Gate, Parliament House and the President's Residence to end the tour with a drive through the Diplomatic Enclave.
Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 5 – Delhi to Agra to Delhi
In the early morning, transfer to the railway station for the trip by train to Agra. You’ll be met upon arrival and transfer from the station directly to the Taj Mahal.
Little needs to be said about this architectural wonder, which is the essence of every visit to Agra. Built by Shah Jahan, the Taj is a white marble memorial to his beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal. This monument took 22 years to be completed and was designed and planned by Persian architect Ustad Isa. Apart from its stunning design balance and perfect symmetry, the Taj is also noted for its elegant domes, intricately carved screens and some of the best inlay work ever seen.
Next, proceed to Agra Fort. Built by the famed Mughal emperor Akbar in 1565 AD, the fort is predominantly of red sand stone, hence its nickname of The Red Fort. Ensconced within is the picture perfect Pearl Mosque.
Following lunch at a local hotel, drive back to Delhi and you hotel.
