FULL LENGTH TOUR DESCRIPTION
A cosmopolitan and sophisticated city, it is the seat of Parliament, and the centre for government and many financial institutions. Depart the pier for a panoramic tour of the city.
Following your panoramic drive, you will transfer to the cable car for a ride up to the Botanic Gardens. Operational since 1902, this cable car was originally driven by steam but was changed over to electricity in 1933. The car climbs up a steep incline, making 4 stops along the way and offering magnificent views over the city and harbour. At the top you will find yourself at the Botanic Gardens with a lookout offering spectacular views.
The Botanic Gardens features 25 hectares of unique landscape, protected native forest, conifers, specialised plant collections and colourful floral displays including the well-loved Lady Norwood Rose Garden, boasting over 300 varieties of roses.
Enjoy some free time to explore the Gardens before enjoying some lunch in the local restaurant. For the remainder of your trip you may choose to remain at the Botanic Gardens, where several paths lead back down into town, or you may choose to accompany your guide back to the ship by coach.
