Fundacion Niños del Arco Iris - Children of the Rainbow
Since 2003, Fundacion Niños del Arco Iris (Children of The Rainbow) has actively supported families living under extreme poverty in the Sacred Valley of The Incas, Cusco. The work is based on the principles of Love, Respect and Trust and offers support in education, healthcare and protection of the environment. The Day Centre provides warm meals and educational support programs to about 200 children who come after school to take a hot shower, enjoy a nutritious lunch and use the facilities. People from the Sacred Valley also benefit from the in-house doctor and dentist who have a permanent practice at our facilities. Psychosocial guidance is also offered.
Since 2005 the centre has offered 100 youngsters the opportunity to obtain a Technical Degree as certified carpenters, electricians, seamstresses and most recently, certified hotel front desk staff. There are also English language lessons for all.
Visit Children of the Rainbow with A&K
During their excursion to the Sacred Valley, A&K guests are invited to visit the foundation and enjoy a delicious barbecue lunch with grass fed beef, fresh local trout and organic vegetables from the area. Guests can interact with the children, take part in games and also participate in a discussion forum with the older students. Guests are assured it will make a great difference to their lives and to the childrens' futures. For further information on including such a visit in a Peru itinerary, contact A&K Peru.
