Aero Link Uganda Limited (AeroLink) a subsidiary of Airkenya Express will on 1st July 2012, subject to regulatory requirements, commence scheduled and charter flights within the Ugandan National Parks. AeroLink will be based and operate out of Entebbe International Airport. AeroLink will offer flights from Entebbe into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (both Kisoro and Kihihi Airstrips), Queen Elizabeth National Park (Kasese airstrip) and Murchison Falls (Pakuba airstrip).
AeroLink will start operations with two Caravans and as per Airkenya’s crewing policy, the flights will be operated by two pilots. Airkenya’s General Manager, Captain Dino Bisleti said “We have had calls from so many quarters to seriously consider a Ugandan operation, we are delighted to announce its commencement come 1st July 2012. The Uganda Wildlife Authority has introduced two new fully habituated gorilla families for tourist visits in Bwindi Forest National Park, increasing the number of gorilla permits per day from 56 to 72.
The new families, Orugonzo and Kahungye, bring the total number of habituated gorilla families and clans to 10. The Orugonzo family is situated in northern Buhoma area and easily accessible from Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp while Kahunge family is in the southern Nkuringo area of the park near Clouds Mountain Lodge.

Working together with Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp, A&K has been supporting the Bwindi Community Hospital, the local health center that supports the local community at the Bwindi Impenetratable Forest where the camp is based.
Recent updates from the hospital indicate gains in efforts towards malaria eradication. Insecticide treated mosquito nets coverage now stands at 60%. This has decreased malaria threat in the community particularly among the under fives. Today only 2% of the under fives seen in the Outpatients department are treated for malaria. A&K will continue working closely with the hospital to improve the lives of the Bwindi Community.
Africa is known for the Big 5 – African lion, African elephant, leopard, Cape buffalo and the Black or White rhino. However, Uganda boasts of not only the Big 5 but plus the unique two! The country has the highest number of Chimpanzees and Mountain Gorillas any where in the world. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda is home to 65% of the world's surviving population of mountain gorillas. Kibale Forest National Park has the highest primate density of any area on earth, including the red-tailed money, blue monkey, olive baboon, chimpanzee, colobus (black, white and red ) and white cheeked mangabey.
