
A new and high-tech visitor's centre will be opened in Belfast this March to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the HMS Titanic's maiden, and only, voyage. The centre will be situated on the site where the ship was built and will hold the world's best collection of relics from the ship. In celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee this year, Buckingham Palace will be displaying the Queen's best diamond jewellery and tiaras. The collection will be on display from August to September 2012. Other celebratory exhibitions will include "The Queen: Sixty Photographs for Sixty Years" at Windsor Castle and "Treasures from the Queen's Palaces" at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh which will include paintings, drawings, manuscripts, furniture, ceramics and jewellery. A New Charles Dickens Museum has been reopened in time for the author's 200th birthday. The museum, based in the author's only surviving London house, 48 Doughty Street, holds the world's largest collection of Dickens memorabilia including manuscripts, rare editions, personal items and paintings. Hampton court Palace will host a fascinating new art exhibition, "The Wild, The Beautiful and The Damned", exploring the meaning of beauty and love in the Stuart Court, with particular emphasis on the lives and loves of courtesans and libertines during the reigns of Charles II, James II, William III & Mary II and Anne.
