 Drive from Dover to Tenterden for the chance to travel back in time on a leisurely journey through Kent’s green countryside aboard a restored vintage steam train, part of the historic Kent & Sussex railway.  The small but powerful old engine chugs from Tenterden to Bodiam and back to Northiam, and you will enjoy a traditional English cream tea with scones and cakes during this approximately one and a quarter hour trip through the soft green countryside. As you pass through Tenterden to join your train, you will drive down the wide main street lined with Elizabethan and Georgian Houses.  Pass the 15th century Church of St Mildred whose tall tower was once used as a beacon to warn the English of the approach of the Spanish Armada.
